#JusticeForJayarajAndFenix: Priyanka Chopra Condemns Police Brutality And Demands Justice: ‘Reeling From What I' Hearing’
After George Floyd's death, followed by #BlackLivesMatter protest, the recent brutal killing of timber trader, 60-year-old Jayaraj and his 31-year old son Bennix has once again filled netizens with anger. The shameful act took place in Tamil Nadu where Jayaraj and Bennix were arrested in Sttankulam and lodged in Kovlpatti sub-jail for keeping their shops open for a few hours beyond lockdown rules. Father died in the hospital and son too within a gap of 10 hours. The killing of two people has now led to a huge protest on social media. Netizens are terming it as murders under police custody.

After Taapsee Pannu, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza, Shikhar Dhawan and others, Priyanka Chopra has now reacted to the same. Taking to Twitter, the actress has posted a note demanding justice for Jayaraj and Fenix. She wrote, “Reeling from what I am feeling. Absolutely stunned, sad and angry. No human being deserves such brutality whatever be the crime. The guilty must not be allowed to go unpunished. We need facts. I can't even begin to imagine what the family must be going through. Sending strength and prayers. We need to use our collective voices to seek #JusticeForJayarajandBennicks"

Meanwhile, Taapsee, Riteish, and others too have expressed their fury. The actress tweeted, “This might just be one case out of many but it takes only one case to begin the snowball effect. #JusticeforJayarajAndFenix  It could’ve been anyone we know. Details are scary and gut-wrenching.”

And Riteish wrote, “This is tragic & absolute National Shame. It sends shivers down my spine even reading about it. We all must stand together against this barbaric brutality. #JusticeForJeyarajAndFenix” (ALSO READ: Priyanka Chopra Celebrates Frontline Workers In ‘Variety’s Power Of Women’, Talks About Realizing Her Privilege: ‘Quarantine Has Been Truly Humbling’)
